Peridot

Peridot is a bright green gemstone formed from the mineral olivine. Its colour ranges from yellow-green to olive green and comes from the presence of iron within the crystal structure.

Unlike many gemstones that form deep within the Earth’s crust, peridot often forms in volcanic rocks and has even been found in meteorites. The stone has been admired since ancient times and was used in jewellery by the Egyptians, who called it the “gem of the sun.”

Peridot is the birthstone for August and is traditionally associated with good fortune, protection, and positive energy.
