Alexandrite
Alexandrite is a rare and valuable gemstone famous for its remarkable colour-changing ability. It belongs to the mineral chrysoberyl and appears green or bluish-green in daylight, but shifts to reddish or purplish under incandescent light.
Discovered in the 19th century in Russia, the stone was named after Tsar Alexander II. Because of its rarity and unique optical effect, alexandrite is highly prized in fine jewellery.
Alexandrite is recognized as one of the birthstones for June and is often associated with luck, creativity, and transformation.
